Welcome to The Inman Compendium. The purpose of my site is to research all lines of the Inman family. My hopes are to link as many of the smaller branches into the large branches. Also, to link the large branches together if possible.

There is an old 'story' that there were four brothers who came to America from England. One went north, one went to VA, one went south and the other is not known. So it is our belief that many of the Inman branches (and that includes Inmon, Innman and Innmon) derive from these brothers and are related.

This project is geared to identify families and help their descendants locate other researchers and kin. The site is open to all Inman researchers at no charge and does not make a profit in ANY way on anything that you might share. Or on anything at all. I am devoted to making these family links and to documenting, to the best of my ability, those links. I provide the service of making your lineage available to researchers everywhere so that you do not have to learn how to make web pages, transfer files, or pay for server space on the web. I also provide, for free, articles, records, wills, photos and the online database for your research use.

This page is possible only through the donations of materials from everyone involved. You will find listed on many pages the name of Rosa Inman Hightower. She has contributed an enormous amount of material for the database and photo album, and the records, articles, census and cemetery pages. She searches web sites and CD-ROMs for additional data, on all lines, to complement this site. This site would not be as large as it is without her contributions. I need you to share your findings as well. I choose to find a way to make research material universal rather than proprietary.

In return for all of the compilation work that I do, I only request that you send me a detailed family history for your Inman line. This is a free site but will not grow without the materials you can provide. Please help by sending material you have which is similar to that which you find here.

If this site has helped you make a link, or saved you the time and expense of distant research, a small yearly contribution ($5 or $10) would be appreciated. This will go towards the ever increasing costs of our web host.
